The Study On The Strategies Of The Restructuring Of Agriculture In Shouyang County

In view of importance of agriculture, based on reviewing the current development and dynamics of the restructuring of agricultural industry around the whole world, this study made a systematic research on internal drive, mechanism of impact, elements and objectives as well as supports of structural adjustment in agriculture in Shouyang County, Shanxi Province by means of careful investigation, comparison, and synthetic evaluation. By the analysis of new situation encountered in agriculture with the China's entry into WTO and local natural and economic conditions, the objectives, tasks and measures of the adjustment of agriculture structure have been made out for Shouyang county. Proposals for Shouyang agricultural structure adjustment are made as follows: Agriculture in Shouyang should be regulated with the aim of hi-tech and high profit structure, meanwhile the agriculture will be specialized and large-scale as well as with ecological and sightseeing function. Besides, the local agriculture should be featured with water-saving development and efficient utility of land. To carry forward the local agricultural regional structure, the rural economic structure, agricultural industrial structure in all-round way and to adjust and optimize the structure and varieties of agricultural products, which makes vegetables and food grains and grass as well as fruits become the four predominant industries in Shouyang agriculture. To shape up a rational distribution of productive forces gradually by readjusting regional structure in Shouyang agriculture, which promotes superior agriculture products and special agricultural products to concentrate in three main agriculture production zones. To develop the second and tertiary industries with the characteristics of the food-grains processing and vegetables-storage, freshness and delivery as the main body, which cultivates the more and more leading enterprises. To expand the livestock husbandry and raise its proportion in output value by adjusting agricultural industrial structure, thus makes it play a predominant role in local agriculture. To ensure the grain yield, meanwhile, to expand the vegetables-growing areas and food grain growing areas and to convert mass cropland into pastureland, which forms a ternary farming structure of grain, cash and forage crops.
