With the variation of markets, the vehement competitions and the rapid development of IT technologies, manufacturing enterprises have been transforming greatly and deeply. Due to the large size and the slow reformation step, the great national defense enterprises still continue the planned economy's model in production and management systems etc. In aspect of equipment management there are still a good deal of manual account records, the historic account management is in disorder, the checking procedure is onerous, and the communication between departments is not expedite, the link is disjointed between forepart management and later management, which result in longer purchase periods and settling accounts periods. As a result, some equipments have became useless when they firstly come into the management of capital asserts. Besides, the equipments use state is not recorded truly. In this paper. after a full investigation into national defense enterprises, according to the actuality of equipment management and the enterprise's requirements, consulting modern information technologies and computer technologies, the author designs a suit of equipment overall life-cycle management software system and completes it. The main research work and contributions of this paper are as follows:1) The modeling of equipment overall life-cycle. According to the specialty of equipment management in national defense enterprises, the equipment overall life-cycle data model and function model are built. The equipment overall lifecyele three-dimension view model is proposed. Through a kind of mathematical definition way the equipment attribution dimension, the equipment class dimension and lifecyele dimension are defined in detail. According to the idiographic functions of equipment management and by the way of object-oriented method. the use-case diagram, the sequence diagram and the class diagram are described as classical function modes. Meanwhile, the equipment management maintenance period node is calculated in probabilistic method.2) Data integration and data share in different models of equipment forepart and later management. Equipment management models are greatly differential between forepart management and later management. Forepart management is based on every purchase project, but there are three levels: workshop level, plant level and department level. In later management periods, different management actors have different ranges and contents. Between forepart and later management, how to make data uniform is a difficult problem to be resolved.3) Research of the data communication with other application system based on resource database platform. The research of resource database platform is also one subproject of national defense base project "The Agile Virtual Manufacturing Technologies"' (Kl800020502). Its main function is data integration and data management by category. This paper studies the data share based on resource database platform. Through the platform interface it can communicate with otherapplication system indirectly and can share data as well. 4) Building the proposed system of equipment overall life-cycle management. Theproposed system is described in detail, including its architecture, interface, database technology, distributed component technology and system security.
