Business Intelligence (BI) is a new term created by an American analyst in the 90's of the 20th century, but it is not a thing without basis.'In fact, BI belongs to the rising IT tide:DSS, ERP and CRM, all fulfilling the same purpose. BI was put forward on the foundation of information-based tools ,like ERP. It can offer real-time analyses to enterprise data created by management tools such as ERP, CRM, and SCM. They provide reports to enterprises letting governors know the present condition in order to make the right decision. This dissertation is about the realization of Business Intelligence within the network environment in reference to electronic commerce, electronic data exchange, electronic funds transmission, and electronic marketing. Here the realization mainly refers to data warehouse, online analytical processing, data mining, and executive information systems. The concept of the data warehouse was proposed in the late 1990's as a precept that uses the traditional database technology as the basic method to store data and manage sources. Also it uses statistics technology as the efficient method to analyze data and obtain information, which includes artificial intelligence technology as the scientific protocol to discover new knowledge and discipline. A lot of specialists in the fields of data warehouse and decision support system have focused their research on data warehouse technology and believe that data warehouse is the foundation of BI. In order to efficiently use the data in data warehouse and fulfill the requirements of a decision, this is where the data warehouse tools appear with two important kinds of tools: online analytical processing and data mining. Online analytical processing expands the framework of data from two-dimensions to multiple-dimensions and provides the method to analyze the multi-dimensional data. Data mining is developed from artificial intelligence and machinery studying, which provides efficient technology and methods for automatic discovery of knowledge and regular patterns. Through the technology of OLAP, data mining, and so forth, data warehouse can analyze a great deal of data and then transform the data into information. The results of the analysis are presented in the form of multi-dimensional views to support the senior leaders' decisions. OLAP and DM are analytical tools aiming at business data in the business intelligence system. Nowadays, the integrated intellectual decision support system has become increasinglyimportant, all from the basis on data warehouse, online analytical processing, and data mining. With that, it sets a new field for decision support system to develop, which will be discussed in this article in six chapters.Chapter 1: First, It will introduce the comprehension and creations of Business Intelligence briefly, and then explain a few aspects of the realization of Business Intelligence. Finally,it will introduce the network environment of Business Intelligence and the platform revolution to Business Intelligence.Chapter 2: It will discuss the creation and developments of data warehouse, and then explain the system structure of data warehouse, which is based on Business Intelligence. Furthermore, it will point out the creating process and implementation of data warehouse under general circumstances and explain the application of data warehouse in business policy making.Chapter 3: This chapter will discuss the popular technique of Business Intelligence:OLAP. Then it will introduce the analytical method of OLAP,the realization of OLAP, the evaluation of OLAP tools, and lastly give an example of OLAP based on data warehouse.Chapter 4: It mainly will discuss the following issues:the system structure of data mining, the process of data mining, and the analytical method of data mining. Towards the end of Chapter 4,it will analyze the present condition of data mining in our country and give a simple evaluation to data mining tools.Chapter 5: At first it will introduce the origin and definition of EIS. Then it will point out a me...
