Migrant workers are special groups in the formation of China's social transition, their social statuses are "farmers", but they work as "workers." They play an important role in economic development. While in the background of industrialization, informationize mercerization and urbanization trends, migrant workers have both identity of agricultural and industrial, they are in the forefront of the rural population shift and urbanization.The author concerned about migrant workers'career planning and practice, and their impact factors, Around this two basic questions, take the combination of questionnaires, case study and field observations, take the migrant workers in Luntou community as an example, described the current characteristics of their career planning and explore the affecting factors, then in the view of social settings and hierarchy of needs theory, the preliminary conclusions as follow:First, the migrant workers have positive attitude to career planning. Just a few migrant workers learn career planning knowledge through formal channels; a lot of them learn by themselves, furthermore, some of them have little or no awareness of career planning. Although they have a clear understanding, but some of them are incomplete. They also have little awareness on the policy, work environment and development environment. There is a trend of them away from agricultural production. Migrant workers'career goal orientation is not clear, and there is a strong desire for investment and consumption in their goal. The strategy and methods to achieve their career goals is no clear. While the channels of human capital is absence, many migrant workers take the second development strategy that use social capital to achieve its own development. There are misunderstandings in the process of career planning; only a small number of migrant workers organize their own work according to their plan. Most of them judge that there is relatively far from the ideal state, and faces a series of problems. Overall, migrant workers'career planning is poor, their strategies and methods to achieve goals are out of touch with reality, so migrant workers did not fundamentally change their social status and substantial development is difficult.Second, the impact of migrant workers'career planning including personal and social aspects. Migrant workers who have the clearer self-assessment, social recognition and career planning knowledge, the extent of their career planning are clearer, and personal experience of workers affected his career goal setting. In social aspects, because lack of human capital improves social settings, the migrant workers have to change the method passively. On the aspects of business social settings, migrant workers'necessary conditions for the development are out of effective protection.Third, the way of life which migrant workers'career planning has shown, on the one hand because the social setting for migrant workers is split, it made them difficult to understand these settings and the cost of contacts is relatively high, so migrant workers can not use these social settings effectively. on the other hand, there are some migrant workers in the condition that pursuit the higher level of demand while the lower level of demand did not meet, which means that during the migrant workers career practice, they ignore or sacrifice some of the level of need and encountered a series of problems and left negative images.Fourth, from the "hierarchy of needs" and "social setting" theory, the measures to help migrant workers'career planning to achieve the objective are:first, ensure that rural workers'basic needs can be met. Second, provide self-analysis and social settings for migrant workers for improve human resources, and change the situation of fragmentation of various policies, make them system or packaged to reduce the difficulties of understanding or the policy access costs. Third, increase and improve the relevant institutions of career planning of migrant workers, protection and related laws and regulations supporting the implementation of support measures. Then use the power of mass media, increase the of program migrant workers'career planning. The last one is mobilize all social forces, positively, organized them to help migrant workers.
