Since the reform and opening up, along with the rapid development of non-public economy, the non-public enterprises absorb employees in the majority of the national employment which is far exceeding the state-owned enterprises and collective enterprises and other public enterprises. The development of non-public economic and the growing number of workers of non-public enterprises promote the formation of trade unions in non-public enterprises. The trade unions in non-public enterprises play much more important roles in preserving and implementing the social security rights and interests of workers.At present, there are a large number of study about trade unions in the academic circles, but research on trade unions of non-public enterprises with social security together are very few. This paper mainly uses normative research, literature analysis, comparative study and empirical research methods. Based on analysis about the basic concepts of non-public enterprise and union and related theoretical, the paper analyses the influencing factors about trade unions of non-public enterprises of China in the social security of workers. Then, it summarizes the practices of Western union and its experience impacting on China. And then it puts forward the mechanisms of non-public enterprises trade unions in the social security of workers from three aspects, which are policy participation, right and interest maintenance and development. Finally, it discusses the exploration practice of Mei Hua- enterprise union.
