The returned overseas Chinese issue has been one of the hot topics for international relation research in recently years. In the 1950s and 1960s Indonesia anti-Chinese exclusion wave appeared, and then the Chinese government struggled against the exclusion and resettled returned overseas Chinese from Indonesia, which left a very profound page in China's diplomatic relations. Exploring this period of history has a profound realistic significance in handling of overseas Chinese problem of inter-countries and in dealing the overseas Chinese affairs. In this thesis, the author adopts literature research by collecting and sorting documents concerning Chinese government's resettlement of Indonesian refugees, related publication of that period and scholars'relevant works, and then combing through the origins, history process, effects and other issues of Chinese government's resettlement of returned overseas Chinese from Indonesia in the 1950s and 1960s, and finally drawing relevant conclusions.Chinese government's resettlement of Indonesian refugees in the 1950s and 1960s is a special product of high concentration of political and economic systems of that period:creating a "overseas Chinese farm" mode, implementing the policy of "focusing on the centralized settlement, supplemented by scattered resettlement", giving refugees long-term preferential policies and subsidies supplies, thus letting them share the experience of social changes with the Republic from economic hardship to the reform and opening up. This policy is in accord with China's national conditions and diplomatic requirements of that period and proves correct. However, at the influence of the domestic political and economic situations, some problems appeared in the resettlement process. Along with the social changes, especially after the reform and opening, overseas Chinese farm that was originally established under the planning economic system is confronting the impact of market economy and the appearance of various problems. Therefore, overseas Chinese farm requires immediate transition in producing and management system to adapt to the new era changes.
