The Research Of Jiang Zemin's Thinking Of Strategic Partner Of Sino-Russia Relation

As an important part of Jiang Zemin's external strategy, Jiang Zemin's thinking of strategic partnership of Sino-Russia relation has become a guiding idea used to further develop friendly cooperative relations between China and Russia, and create security of Asian-Pacific and strengthen the world peace. Because the studies of this topic at home and abroad are weak, I make a discussion about the topic. First, this article analyzes causes of Jiang Zemin's thingking of strategic partnership of Sino-Russia relation, such as multi-polarization and globalization of developmental trends, the rising of Asia-Pacific economy and Chinese and Russian national interests, and so on. Second, it discusses the content and its features of the Jiang Zemin's thinking of strategic partnership of Sino-Russia relation. It includes enhancing mutual political trust, expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, deepening security cooperation, strengthening scientific and cultural military exchanges. Its features include a non-ideological state, nonalignment, no confrontation with each other, not aiming at the third country, wide-ranging, multi-level coordination and cooperation, and so on. Thirdly, it makes an intensive study of the function of Jiang Zemin's thinking of strategic partnership of Sino-Russia relation. It includes benefiting the establishment of a new international order, promoting peace and development in the Asia-Pacific region, creating a stable surrounding environment for Chinese development, making a certain impact on how the leading group of the Central Committee of the CCP under Hu Jintao make policies toward Russia and develop Sino-Russian relations early in the new century. Finally, the author hopes this article will contribute to making a deep study on the topic to a certain degree.
