Times is developing and the society is progressing. With the galloping tide of the development of the society, a great many new progresses have taken place in current China, in other words, the economical system has reformed enormously, the presence of the society changes rapidly and the ideas and thoughts of the society surge even more drastically. The integrated development of the society not only requires solid material base and steady political security, but also unified spiritual support. Therefore, as the market economy develops and perfects, civil society has gradually emerged into the sight of the Chinese, which then develops rapidly with full vigor. The value concepts of civil society represent the development tendency of our future society, and China will inevitably develop corresponds to certain values. As a consequent, the development of civil society has paved the way for the Chinese people to further achieve their rights, meanwhile, it has brought opportunities and challenges for the innovation and development of ideological and political education. Therefore, it has been an urgency to actively consider the prospects of the development of ideological and political education in confronting the overwhelming arrival of civil society. When it comes to study the relationship between the ideological and political education and the development of civil society, first of all, we should carefully analyse the two definitions with the purpose of finding out the conjunction point of the two in the way of their developments. Meanwhile, we need to analyse the current developmental situation of the civil society in China and the one that ideological and political education is confronting, relying on the correlation between the two, so as to mouse out the features and developmental probabilities of civil society in China and the ideological and political education. Through the analysis, it can be known that the rise of civil society in China has set enormous influences on the ideological and political education, in addition, the rise has great effects on the ideological and political education from the respect of practising, guiding and motivating of it. All in all, developing the ideological and political education in the background of civil society, we need to analyse the current situation carefully, to formulate our plans scientifically, to take pains to improve efficiency and to pursue progress throughout, which are both realistically and historically significant.This dissertation is composed of five parts. The introduction shows the object of this study the purpose, meaning of this research, current researches,the content, method and lays the foundation of this paper; The first chapter emphatically analysis the citizen political socialization and ideological and political education from the conceptual, mainly is distinguishes the relationships between a civil society and a harmonious society, the citizen political and ideological and political education; The second part describes the status and the current situation faced with by China's civil society and ideological and political education; The third section discusses the influence of the developing citizen society on ideology and politics education; The fourth chapter discusses the development of ideological and political education, that is how it should realize the innovation and major leaps in the actively response to the approaching citizen society. The conclusion makes summaries and analysis of the whole dissertation to deepen the subject of the study.
