Trade union of universities is mass organization that represents and safeguards the interests of the faculty. Since the reform and opening up, the internal and external environment of trade union of universities has occurred huge changes, which mainly presented the change of China's political, economic, social structure and the reform of higher education and university management system. Based on the change of both internal and external factors, the construction of university Union meets a severe challenge. Therefore, I selected the topic about the Construction of University Union in the transitional period.The first part describes the changes of the internal and external environment of Chinese universities since the reform and opening up. Such as the change of social structure, the widening gap between rich and poor, the great changes of Chinese higher education system and management system etc. All these have given the construction of university union a tremendous challenge. Then the second part of article analysis many problems and the causes in the university union in modern society. The third part of the study explores the ideal model of university union organizations through the perspective of faculty-based and proposed if the university union want to represent and maintain the interests of the faculty and get rid of the "toolkited" and "welfare", it is necessary to stick to human-orientation and work hard for the staff needed. Finally, the dissertation makes responding solution:the construction of university union in our country should reform the system of trade union funds, university union worker's electoral system, the implementation of direct election etc.
