On Improving The Legal Aid System Of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

The legal aid system is the achievement of the legal civilization and legal culture that has developed into certain stage. It is also the important symbol to measure the level of the rule of law and the advance of the civilization in modern soceity. The promulgation of the Legal Aid Regulation symbolized the establishment of the legal aid system in China. Since 1998, the legal aid has been initiated in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and has made great progress in the past ten years. However, the legal aid in the autonomous region has not performed its corresponding function when it is compared with that of the developed areas in eastern part of China. Concretely speaking, the infrastructure for the legal aid, the allocation of the funds, the reserve of talents, and the quality of handling cases in the autonomous region have great limitations and cannot meet the practical demand of the society. At present, how to provide the legal aid to the most extent in accordance with the situation of the autonomous region has become the urgent task for us. Based on the positive investigation of the practice of the legal aid in the autonomous region, the thesis analyzes and reveals the existing problems. It also introduces the typical system of western nations and the successful experience of the developed areas in eastern part of China. Finally, it puts forward the suggestions on establishing the practical legal aid system, which aims at being beneficial to the reconstruction of the legal aid system of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
