Study On Intelligence Capital Management Of Law Offices

Law offices are organizations that provide legal service for society. Considering the service itself belongs to the intellectual service field, the developmental level of certain organizations depends on the level of management of the intellectual resources.The macroscopic developmental situation of Chinese law offices indicates that the vast majorities of Chinese law offices are still at the stage of newly start-up level. As a very important participant of the developmental process of the Chinese marketing economy, especially as the essential participant in the process of China's globalization, Chinese lawyers are brought with plenty of new space, new fields, and new opportunities by the ever wide and durative space of growth of the Chinese economy. The volume of law business affairs in China proves that lawyers are in dire need, the present situation is that the demand is over the supply. For example, even if all the lawyers over the nation just serve for the Real Estate Industry, the actual number will be still lower than need. But there are only limited few lawyers whose volume of business is excessively supplied. A large number of lawyers are hungry for law cases. Besides, professional lawyers and legal service teams which customs demand fails to meet the need of the market. The conflict between supply and demand is completely caused by the workshop-mode of management in Chinese law offices which has been out of date.Our legal service is being presented with characteristics as elaboration, scalization even globalization by the increasingly comprehensive, demanding needs of the targeting clients of Chinese lawyers. Nevertheless, some metropolises like Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen, because of their geographical factors and the advantage of information acquisition, have been already on the move with series of quick and efficient responses by building up large, professional law offices. It has become an inevitable serious problem of all the Chinese law offices that how on earth should the Chinese law offices (especially for the struggle and the development of the law offices in small cities and in those undeveloped regions) make their strategic positioning and in which mode of management could they adapt themselves to the new demands of the targeting clients so as to promote the quality of the service production as well as gaining the comprehensive competitiveness of the law offices. In accordance with the author's opinion, the usage and the emphasis on the management of the intelligence capital shall be a new direction that ensures appreciation of the value of law service as well as a new route for law offices to hold the opportunities. The crucial resort that enables the law offices to be more competitive in the future is to put emphasis on integration of the intelligence capital. At present, the newly appearing market of legal service and the developmental situation of law offices decide that the gap of the development of legal service between developed and undeveloped regions is growing wider and wider. Whether we could narrow the gap depends on our capability of managing, using, and integrating the strategic resource - the intelligence capital, and on our bold trial of breaking through the traditional way of management - the workshop mode.The management of the intelligence capital is the only way to develop the law offices in China, which is operated by integrating the human capital, structure capital, custom capital and the social capital so as to realize the sharing of the resources, the creation of professional brands, the controlling of the lost of intelligence capital, the acquisition of the core competitiveness, and the construction of the professional legal service teams that provide elaborated legal service.On the basis of analyzing the international and domestic background that the Chinese legal practice is facing and demonstrating the management of the intelligence capital, this paper is initiative to propose that the management of intelligence should be introduced into the managing system of the law offices so that the elaboration, scalization, even the globalization of the legal service can be achieved, and through the working mode of the legal services teams and the elaboration of the compartmentalization, the appreciation of the intelligence capital can be realized, which will strengthen the core competitiveness of law offices, and find new directions for the development of law offices in China.
