The Research On Service Of Elder Care Institutions Based On The Psychological Demand

Since 1980s , along with the reform and opening-up policy ,China's economy have the great development .Meanwhile its aging population accelerate rapidly. To 2000, the national population over 60 accounts for 10 per cent of the population. How to raise the aged becomes the important issue that not allow to ignore.In the social background of the aging and low birth rate, the traditional family support can not meet the needs of raising the elderly. The elder care institutions become more and more popular for the elderly. With the elderlyt in the elder care institutions having their own psychological needs ,if not met ,psychological problems will appear. service of elder care institutions based on the psychological demand of elderly people should be the focus of the work.this paper starting from the service of elder care institutions and different psychological needs of the elderly, use public goods theory and maslow's hierarchy of needs to analyse the necessity of service of elder care institutions based on the psychological demand .Then, the model of service of elder care institutions based on the psychological demand of elderly people are described. Taking Yangpu District social welfare institution as an example to analyze the current practice of psychological care , problems and causes are proposed .And then give some suggestion of improvement .
