Performance management is always a core and full ofdifficulties for manpower resource management. As a sector dense in intelligence, securities industry is of high risk and high profit. With the entry of WTO , foreign security companies are eager to enter China capital market, and the domestic security companies face great challenge for existence while enjoying fast growth. Therefore adopting right methods to build up effective performance management system in accordance with the features of the sector and company's actual situation is of great realistic significance for the long-term, healthy and steady development of security companies and securities industry.This paper makes comparison of some major performance management methods and analyzes securities industry development and performance management practices of securities companies at present, and discusses how to choose right methods to establish effective performance management system, pointing out that asecurity company must according to self situation adopt more than one performance management methods, taking into account the strategic development plan and balance of long-term and short-term interest, in order to create diversity key competitive services and achieve effective performance management.Firstly, this paper elaborates in detail the basic concepts of Performance Management and the tendency of theoretical research and practices related to performance management methods. And it is emphasized that Performance Management is a systems engineering, involving not only the manpower resource management system and its interior factors but also the enterprise's whole organization system and other parts.Secondly, this paper gives comparison and analysis to the widely-used and mature major performance management methods at present, such as Management By Objectives (MBO), Key Performance Index (KPI), Balanced Scorecard, 360-degree Feedback Method , Competency Model and so on, and states that the different methods have their own advantages and may be used for reference mutually.Furthermore, the paper describes the general development of security companies and the industry in China and analyzes in detail the current manpower resource situation and performance management practices of security companies, coming to a conclusion that it is greatest in importance at present for security companies'...
