Mao Zedong's Human Rights Thought is the product of a specifically historical era. It gradually shaped and developed in the process of struggle for freedom and liberation of Chinese people, which was led by Mao Zedong. It was the combination of Human Rights Theory of Marxism and the human rights practice of Chinese.Mao Zedong's Human Rights thought has a far-ranging meaning: striving for the independence of the nation, striving for the democracy and freedom, safeguarding the rights of equality, improving the rights of living and development, treating the minority and women equality, and ensuring the special groups' rights. Also Mao Zedong's Human Rights theory has it own distinct features: Human rights is the rights of the people; Human Rights Theory subordinates Political Thoughts; Human rights have class characters; Human Rights is the consolidation of rights and responsibilities.Mao Zedong made some mistakes in the process of seeking for the ways of realization the human rights in his old ages, but in his all life, he consecutive advocated the ideas of human rights, such as: freedom, equality, and development. He led the Chinese people solved the biggest problem in modern China history: the independence of the nation. So that set a solid base for the changing of Chinese human rights. His persevere work not only enriched and improved the Human Rights of Marxism but also give us many useful historical significance for the constructing and implementing the Human Rights Theory with Chinese Characteristic: Sovereignty weights over human rights; the implementing of human rights is a gradual historical process; the models and ways of development of human rights are different; the constructing of human right should be institutionalized and legalized.
