Harmonious Development Of Regional Economy And Overall Building Of Fairly Well-off Society

As a historical problem, the harmonious development of regional economy is also an urgent one to be solved in order to comprehensively build a fairly well-off society .In view of this problem, the three generations of CPC(the Communist Party of China)leaders employed different development strategies. The first generation employed a kind of balanced strategy; while the second generation employed a kind of unbalanced strategy; As for the third generation, they put forward to a strategy of Western Region Exploitation. But the unbalance of regional economy development has existed all the way. During the historical course of overall building of fairly well-off society, we must adopt various measures to accelerate the harmonious development of regional economy. Such measures include the following: to set up a scientific developmental outlook to plan the regional economy development as a whole; to strengthen the infrastructure construction in central and western regions; to strengthen the protection and construction of ecological environment in central and western regions; to furtherly attract foreign investment to central and western regions; to speed up science, technology and education development and industrial structure adjustment in central and western regions; to speed up the urbanization of central and western regions ;to carry out cooperation between eastern and western regions . The eastern region should achieve pioneering modernization. Only by various ways can we achieve the harmonious development of regional economy and complete the historical task of overall building of fairly well-off society.
