Chinese tourism industry has got a prodigious achievement since 1978, and the quantity of inbound tourists in China has already exceeded a hundred million in 2004. World Tourism Organization predicted China would become the largest tourist destination country in the world in 2020, and then Chinese tourism development will be affected by such tourist flows. Tourism theory research, especially about the all-around study of market, individual behavior is inferior to the tour practice. Moreover, the idea of researcher about the meaning, character and influence of tourist behavior have not met each other yet, then the deficiency of theory research will restrict the sustainable development of Chinese tourism industry.Based on the item of National Natural Science Found named 'Research on the tourists behavior mode of inbound tourist in China', this paper makes an overall and meticulous study on the behavior about tourist decision-making, consuming, experience and mutual behavioral model of culture of foreigner tourists, then analysis it's restrict and controllable factors through many ways, such as psychology test survey, statistics, behavior intent map and expert assistant decision-making, etc. In order to built the theory conception of tourists behavior, the method of economic science, psychology and geography all be used in this paper. Next, make a concrete analysis on four problems that include the market character of foreigner tourist, the influence of decision-making, consuming preferences and experience evaluation.Researching these issues thoroughly can provide assistance not only for tourism practice, such as decision-making about tourism industry managements, tourism resource exploitation, tourism planning, and market promoting, but also for the building of inbound tourist behavior mode, even for bettering the tourism theory conception.The research has been taken 1.5 years since November 2003, and it was consist of three courses, the questionnaire design, investigation, statistics and analysis.The paper consists of seven chapters. Chapter 1 introduces some background knowledge, including the development of tourism in China, and the current situation of tourism research. Finally, it points out the significance of the paper.
