Abstract: Spatial interaction, as the three main topics of geographical research together with human environment and human-land relationship. Taking the interaction between China and Australia in the Internet era as a research object, the paper aims to the new trends of new interaction model in the Internet era, reveal the background, process & mechanism of it from the theoretical level and give a qualitative analysis to the role in promoting China-Australia studying aboard exchange by concrete example. There are 7 parts in this paper. The first part is introduction as an overall grasp to whole paper, in which the background, research thinking, method and significance are introduced; the second part is the research summarization in spatial interaction of home and abroad geographical field. Based on the review and comment to the existing literature both home and abroad, we find that our topic belongs to the weak point in the home and abroad research. So this research has a beneficial meaning to the exploration the geography development in information society; the third part is the interaction background between remote countries in Internet era. The time background of present spatial interaction is introduced from three angles, the global fast development of Internet, the coming of information society and the dominant role of flow space; the fourth part is the present situation, interaction type and evolution process between China and Australia. The present situation of interaction between two countries is introduced from material flow, capital flow and people flow. Finally, the present interaction type between two countries is identified and the interaction four-stage between two countries is elaborated; the fifth part is the mechanism and feature of interaction flow between two countries in information era. The main factors that caused the capital flow, people flow and information flow are analyzed, which point out the high-rank visit and signing a series of agreements are the propeller of interaction between two countries. The three characteristics including the different ways of information flow, people flow and material flow, the obvious unidirectional character of capital flow, study abroad flow and migration flow, the relative weakness of distance factor are summarized; the sixth is concrete examples. After the new angle of ICTs is introduced in home and abroad research, the role of website in the study abroad is showed. The invisible information flow driven by study abroad website is analyzed qualitatively in study abroad exchange between two countries, especially in the increase of Chinese going to Australia; the seventh part is conclusion, which includes four conclusions, innovation point and three aspects that are need to be studied further.
