Preliminary Research On Mental Education Of The Public Security Police In Sichuan Province

The public security organ takes on the significant political and social duties of consolidating the ruling status of Communist Party, maintaining the national long-term stability and safeguarding the people's welfare and of defeating criminals, safeguarding people's life and property and offering necessary service to society. The quality of police directly influences the performance of police. Generally speaking, the quality of police is divided into four basic types named political quality, cultural quality, physical quality and psychological quality. The standard of three former qualities have been formed during the course of managing and training, but the standard of psychological quality hasn't been good enough for kinds of reasons. Furthermore, the formation and development of good psychology needs not only longer time but also the support of psychological education system of police.Based on the result of psychological status quo in Sichuan province, the study constructs macroscopically the psychological education and pressure-relieving mechanism. It also designs a questionnaire for personality selection to construct the precondition for psychological education system.Firstly, based on the fact and the character of policemen' work, using objective and open-ended questions, the questionnaires of psychological status quo of the police both for the collective and for the individual are designed. In addition, the questionnaires, including the psychological status quo of the police and CPI and SCL-90 are applied to investigate psychological status quo of the public security police. The findings are as follows:I . Most of the public security policemen in Sichuan province possess such advantages as identification of their professional value, good interpersonal relationship and healthy lifestyle.
