| With the development of our economy and society, more attention has been paid to environment and health. Thus more regulations and rules have been made to protect our environment and natural resources, as well as the health of people, animals and plants. Such regulations and rules tend to become more rigorous in recent years. In the international market, green factor has become one essential part in deciding the quality of the product. However, in our country standards and regulations on green have not been well understood. Many standards and regulations on environment have been taken as green barriers in our country. By now, green activities have been treated as social public activities by many enterprises and not as one factor in deciding products' quality. This has led to the fact that some of our products exported are below the international green quality standard and many enterprises are justsuffering from this. The impact is particularly obvious on our farm product exported.In this thesis, with the new trend of protecting environment and human health in the international trade, new concept of green quality has been put forward to change the present understanding about green standards and regulations and traditional ideas about green barriers have been viewed in other perspectives. In this thesis, farm product is taken as one example to discuss this issue. On the basis of the new ideas, standards and regulations on green quality of main countries and their impact on our farm product exported have been introduced and discussed in the following parts of this thesis. Because of traditional ideas on green barriers, more emphases have been put on the negative effects of green quality requirements in the past. In this thesis, however, more emphases have been put on the opportunities that green quality has brought for our farm product exported and our agriculture industry in long term.In order to take the challenge and seize the opportunity that the green quality has brought for our farm product export, appropriate and effective measures must be taken. In this thesis, a model of product quality has been brought forward, which includes three factors: basic function, satisfaction of basic function, decrease of negative function.
