Since reform and opening-up, foreign trade of our country has developed rapidly. In 2004, the total amount of exports and imports of our country has ranked 3 in the world. However, the situation of the structure of our export commodities is not reasonable, it also has a great deal of contradictions and problems. The paper analyzes the structure of the export commodities of our country by building up a three-level judging method. And it turns out that our export commodities structure is still based on the low technology-intensive products although the export of our capital-intensive products has surpassed the export of our labour-intensive products from our products category. Current export products structure also leads to many negative influences such as the deterioration of our trade condition and the increase of trade friction. According to dynamic comparative superiority model, the advancement of comparative superiority and the change of trade structure mostly depend on the accumulations of elements and technology progress. Own to the fact that element gift can't be changed in short time, technology improvement is the basic way to optimize the structure of our export commodities. In this respect, Japan and Korea have provided a good example. Both of these two countries optimize their structure of exports commodities successfully by improving technology and exerting their dynamic comparative superiority. The paper uses the successful experience for reference, analyzes the existing problems of our technology improvement, and put forwards some suggestions for the optimization of our export commodities structure from the way of improving technology.
