The Study Of Supply Chain Inventory Control Policies

Inventory management is an important part of the supply chain management, which is the key both to exert collaboration and to perform the integrated management. The quantity of the inventory influences not only the individual's cost, but also the whole chain's performance. Therefore, further studies on the collaborative strategies have theoretical and realistic significance. To get over the disadvantage and deficiency of the classical inventory control methods in the supply chain, and combined with new theory and practice, this paper gives some new ideas and new methods in inventory control.The dissertation introduces the background and the purport of the topic. It analyzes the national and international status quo and developing direction of the supply chain inventory management. Then it points out the major work and the plan of the text. On the basis of supply chain management theory and inventory theory, and combined with the trait of the supply chain inventory management, the second chapter points out the inventory control problem in the supply chain and analyzes the connection of the uncertainty and the inventory. The third chapter indicates the main problem the inventory management is facing. Combined with our country's current situation, this dissertation expounds the problem in our country's current supply chain inventory management particularly, which provides theoretic basis for our country'ssupply chain inventory control. According to the analysis in the third chapter, the fourth chapter studies two partial control policies in supply chain inventory, they are VMI and JMI. We introduce their ideas and flow, and establish models for VMI. Based on others' study before, this text introduces new hypothesis, deeply analyzes the influence on cost, return, purchasing price and order quantity in the short turn and in the long turn separately, which provides theoretic basis for the enterprises to implement VMI successfully. The fifth chapter studies whole policy of the supply chain inventory control. First, we introduce its idea, and analyze the cost parameter involved in the multilevel inventory control. Then establish three kinds of three-stage multi-customer and non-continuous supply chain inventory control models. And by analyzing the result of the numerical examples, we compare the three models' advantages on cost saving. In the last, we perform some sensitivity analysis on the savings from changing the cost parameters in the three models. In the last part of this paper, the production of the whole paper are summarized, and the deficiency in the study is put forward, so some problems are given about the coming study in the inventory of the supply chain.
