Study On Economic Discrepancy Between Chongqing And The Other Municipalities Directly Under The Central Government Of China

After being municipality directly under the central government in 1997,the economy in Chongqing has got the quicker development. But compared with the other municipalities directly under the central government of Peking, Shanghai, Tienjin, there is still a bigger gap. So researching the economic discrepancy of various municipalities directly under the central government in order to set down district economy development strategy with pertinency has the important meaning to promoting the national economy development harmoniously. First of all, the author summarizes the research on regional economic inequality, investigates the definition of regional disparity; briefs regional balance and un balance growth theory, and summarizes the past and present research in this field in China; By the demonstration of the dynamic process of the municipalities directly under the central government economic discrepancy in china, the paper shows the actuality of lagging of Chongqing; it dissects the lagging causes of Chongqing by synthetically analyzing the influencing factors about the lagging ; finally ,the author put forward the related policy suggestion for promoting economic development .The central content as followed : (1) While studying the economic discrepancy between Chongqing and the other municipalities directly under the central government of Peking, Shanghai, Tianjin, by empirical analysis, the paper investigates the gaps between Chongqing and Peking, Shanghai, Tienjin in economic aggregate volume, incomes level of resident, economic structures, and factors of production since 1997, and measure it by the static time difference of region economic development. (2) Analyzing from economic factors, social culture factor, technological progress, government policies, border of district relations, the reason formed to disparity has been probed into, the author thinks, the lagging of economic development of Chongqing is not the result that a certain factor acts on, but of different factors acted on and caused the lagging heeding relatively of economic development of Chonging. (3) Finally, the author has proposed accelerating corresponding strategy and orientation of the policy, which can take in economic development of Chongqing .
