Logistic industry has seen a long history, established with the human activities of production and product exchange, advanced with the technology improvement and economic development. In the history of economic development, logistics supply has contributed to the market expansion and labor division. The economic development of country is strongly dependent on the efficiency of logistics industry. In the modern society, logistics activation, comprising of macro logistics and micro logistics, can be considered as a separate industry, ranging from various production field to service lines. The more closely the logistics industry is related to the economic development, the more it can contribute.This paper analyzes the impact of logistics industry on the economic development, based on the interaction of the two, both in the China market and abroad. The structure of the paper is divided into four parts as follow:i Theory: Chapter one defines the scope of the research, based on the multilateral characterization of the logistics activities inside this industry itself and interactions with other industries. Chapter two analyzes the value of logistics industry in the economy, deriving from the theory of value, social capital, specialization and labor division, and the characteristics of modern logistics industry.ii Past experience: Chapter three summaries the past experience of parallel development of economy logistics industry in the typical developed countries like Japan, Europe and the States. It also elaborates the current status of modern logistics industry world wide and its impact on economy.iii Empirical: Chapter four suggests the possible means through which logistics industry impacts on economy, resulted from theoretical and empirical analysis.
