Research On The Integrity Of Defect Detection & Applicable Evaluation And Risk Assessment Techniques Applied On China Long-Distance Oil & Gas Pipeline Integrity Management

Pipelining is a safe and economical way to transport oil & gas over a long distance. It has significant importance to the national economy. Howerer, any accident in the pipeline system will inevitable lead to catastrophic consequences because oil and gas are flammable, explosive and poisonous. Through a series of inspection, assessment and maintain measure used on the pipeline, the failure in pipeline system can reduced to the level that the society & the public can accept. It is a whole set of pipeline management programs that improved continuly and adapted to the changed conditions flexibly. It can change passiveness to initiativeness and use prediction instead of managing afterwards. It has became the focus of research at present and in the future.Pipeline defect detection technique, applicable evaluation technique, applicable evaluation technique on detect structure and risk evaluation & management of pipeline are the base of pipeline integrity management. In this paper, Failure Analysis Diagram, Finite Element Method are used to predict Pipeline Residual Life. Fault Tree Analysis, Riska Sorting, Experts Scores Technique are used in the Pipeline Risk Assessment. In the meantime, those techniques are applied to the pipeline defect detection in Daqing-Tieling pipeline, the dangerous section harness in Maling-Huianpu-Zhongning pipeline, crude oil pipeline risk assessment & management.Good results were achieved.The subject of this paper is to integrite the information and techniques in defect detection & applicable evaluation and risk assessment. A set of assets integrity management(AIM) system is proosed and established tentatively. It store and manage the whole data, and has practical appling value in China long-distance pipeline system.
