The Comparative Analysis And Strategic Study On The Urban Competitiveness Of Fuzhou City And Xiamen City

Under the influence of the economy globalization at present, the competitions of the countries are shown as the competitions among cities and the urban colonies more and more. Therefore, the urban competitiveness has already become the focus nowadays, which is paid closer attention to extremely. And for Fujian Province, it lies in the southeast coast of China, facing Taiwan, and has special advantages of geographical position. How to improve the urban competitiveness of Fuzhou city and Xiamen city that are two large key cities inside the province becomes a particularly important subject.This paper bases on the commenting to the international economic situation and current situation of the development of Fujian Province area. With the comparation to the competitiveness of two cities, Fuzhou city and Xiamen city, this paper puts on with the preliminary discussion of the study. Synthesize comprehensive competitiveness theories and model systems in domestic and international areas, this paper tries to set up the urban competitiveness evaluation index system that is suitable for this case. Based on the clustering function of self-organizing feature map in ANN (Artificial Neural Network),the author draws the result of the classification of the urban functions by nine cities in Fujian Province and puts forward analyses to the development foundations of the urban competitiveness in Fuzhou and Xiamen cities. Later, with the using of the Principal Components Analysis, this paper grades every items of urban competitiveness in the urban competitiveness evaluation index system that has been structured, drawing the scores on the divide items in every competitiveness of the nine cities, and analyses the difference of competitiveness between Fuzhou city and Xiamen city.And then it is going on to put forward the thinking and countermeasures to promote urban competitiveness of Fuzhou city and Xiamen city. Point outthat under the background of the fact that the strategy of" Economic Zone of west bank in the Taiwan straits " is imagined and put forward, Fuzhou city and Xiamen city should choose the development paths that have complementary advantages, then achieve the benign development of the competition relation and make the whole strength of area of Fujian Province to be strengthened.
