The superiority of a party is a key factor to it to retain its livelihood, and especially so to the Communist Party of China .The so-called concept of "superiority" is itself comparative and relative. As to our party, namely, a proletarian political party, it lies in two points : the first one is to march advanced to the massive;the second is to go ahead of the age .And the essence is that our party meets the demand of the social and historical development ,and represent the fundamental interest of the people .All along the superiority construction is the core of the construction of the Communist Party of China ,and throughout all the stages. From some viewpoint, just from the first day of our rarty, the processs of relentless struggle and ceaseless strive of several generations of the party member manifests itself as a whole course of maintaining the superiority of the party .Therefore ,it has considerable significance for our present construction to review the theory and practice of our party in retaining the superiority in all stages .Although the article is to trace back the history ,the content is not arranged by the time sequence. It has two chapters .The first one introduces the fundamental concepts of the superiority of the Communist Party, and some classical remark on it by the revolutionary masters.The second is to dwell on the successs and failure of the Communist Party of China to retain the superiority.This article has traced back throughout the eight years of our party's construction, with the clue of "the superiority consruction".Meanwhile ,the author has put forward some new thoughts and viewpoints of his own .As "the past directs the current",the aim of this article is to present some useful hints to today's party construction under the ideal of "three representatives".
