Since the 1990s, the end of the Cold War and the intensification of globalization have given rise to a profound transformation of the international political structure. With the strengthening of interdependence among the states, non-state actors including international organizations and transnational corporations and so on share the world stage with states, which makes their functions and impacts grow increasingly. At the same time, the national interests of China have greatly expanded due to its development. The development of China cannot be realized without depending on the world, so the broad participation in international organizations is essential for China to join the world, to protect and realize national interests, and to assume the international responsibilities of a great power. This thesis gives a systematic study on the relations between China and international organizations after the Cold War.Part One mainly deals with the process of establishing relations between China and international organizations from the time when China was founded to the end of the Cold War. After China was founded, the relations between China and international organizations experienced a hard long way, and showed distinct characteristics respectively in three periods marked with difficult development, restoration of relations and all-round development. After the Cold War, the development of the relations between China and international organizations historically succeeded to the development of this period, meanwhile it has experienced qualitative changes.
