A Study On Intellectuals' Way Of Thinking In The Period Of Transformation

Intellectuals have played a very important role as a main group in social development.Especially in modern scientific and technical era, intellectuals have greatly influenced thedevelopment of society. At present, China is in the period of transformation now. Our mostimportant task is how to build new ideology to fit Chinese reform and modernizationsbuilding that the intellectuals have the direct duty in the transformation period. Because theunfinished reform, imperfect regulation and varies ideology are coexisted, there are traditionalideology and western ideology swarming into our society at the same time. On the other hand,the globalization has become the main stream of modern world, varies thinking are impactedand eroded each other. These are the vital challenges for building new ideology. We bothinsist the Marxism theory and keep our own independence to increase the nation cohesion andmaintain the safety and unity of our country. We have to adapt the demand of era, which canmake us adapt the social development trend of globalization. The intellectuals should stand upto face the important task and firstly alter their traditional way of thinking, identify scientificand corrective moral outlook and value outlook. They should take the important task ofreform to lead other social members to work together for the modernization building of oursocialism, and to lead others to making new ideas in cording with the development of thesociety. So that to realize modernization and finish their own historical task.There are three parts in the paper. The first part is to briefly introduce the concept andcontent of the intellectuals. The second part is to analyze some problems and phenomena ofintellectuals existing in the current society. The third part is to discuss modern intellectualshow to build new way of thinking to meet the demand of social development.
