Chinese traditional culture is famous for its profoundness, long history, and the priceless spiritual quality it maintains. Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping are all great leaders with the breeding of Chinese traditional culture. However, due to different many kinds of restrictions, like history, environment, and some subjective aspects, there are also some differences between their inheriting and developing on traditional culture. Anyway, their concepts on traditional culture provide precious experience to our construction of culture today.Chapter one illustrates the Mao's concept of seeking truth from facts with Deng's. For Chinese traditional realism to"seeking truth from facts", this paper showed the long history of the"seeking truth from facts"atmosphere in China. Mao is the first one who refine the spirit of seeking truth from facts, while Deng inherit, enrich, and develop Mao's concept of seeking truth from facts.Chapter two analyzes the Mao's concept of"The Middle Way"with Deng's. The Middle Way is a great finding of Confucius, also a great contribution, which has"Overdone is worse than undone."as its important components. Mao and Deng both inherited the Methodology of"the Middle Way". Mao's concept of"The Middle Way"contains philosophical dialectics, while Deng's realizes itself in political practices, and Deng also corrected Mao's mis-uses in his late years.Chapter three generalizes the Mao's concept of Justice & Profit with Deng's. The debating on the concept of Justice & Profit experienced 3 stages, while Confucianism believes in the mutual development. Mao and Deng have the same attitude on how to deal with public and private profits. The difference is that Mao went to the extreme of all-justice-no-profits, while Deng named the theory that poverty is not socialism, devotion major efforts to develop productive forces, realization of the national Achievement of abundance jointly; To put equal emphasis on material civilization and ethical and cultural progress, taking the two aspects as unified in a single target .Chapter four demonstrates the Mao's theory of"the folk-based thought"with Deng's."The folk-based thought"is the base of the theory of"Holy King". Mao and Deng all desert, refine, and re-create the traditional"the folk-based thought", and Deng enlarge"full devotion"to"people's satisfaction."At the end of the paper, the paper judged the concept of traditional culture of Mao's and Deng's objectively, and raises the theoretic and realistic meaning of the comparison.
