Confronting complex international situation, and considering new domestic condition resulting from the reform and opening policy and the construction of socialist market-oriented economy with Chinese features, the third leading group of the CPC (the Communist Party of China) cored with Jiang Zemin have enriched and developed their own nationality theory guided by the Marxist nationality theory since the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the 13th Central Committee of the CPC.The nationality theory of the third leading group of the CPC is an important component of the theory directing to construct the socialism with Chinese characteristics. The theory is precious spiritual values of the CPC and Chinese people. By Researching the theory, we not only have the advantages to profoundly understand that Marxism is an open theory system with great vitality and flexibility to move forward with times, but also we can master the regulation of the CPC nationality policy during the new period. As the same time, we can promote further development and innovation of nationality theory by studying it. In order to make successful progress of nationality work, we must persevere in and implement the nationality theory. Thus we can realize the great renaissance of the Chinese nation.In the first section of the original the author probes into the background and foundation under which the CPC nationality theory take shape. And the author explores the effect to nationality theory by Su Dong violent change, the rise of the Third Nationalist Movement and globalization by the end of the 80's and at the beginning of the 90's of the 20th century. In this part the author also discusses the relationship that the CPC nationality theory associate with Marxism, Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping's theory. Further the author researches the CPC nationality theory which connect with the practice of the nationality task and with the reality of nationality problems. In the second section of the paper the author concludes the content of the CPC nationality theory consisting of the theory of nationality problem, nationality relationship, regional nationality autonomy, nationality development and nationality work. In the third section the author gives theoretical and practical significance of the nationality theory of the third leading group of the CPC. This theory, which promoted the development of the nationality work smoothly, have enriched and developed Marxist nationality theory. By deliberating the CPC nationality theory, we can get directing means to deal with nationality problem and work successfully nowadays and in the future.
