Reform of the system of direct elections of township and village leaders is one of the bright spot of our grass-roots democracy, but also a major focus of academic study. This text provides a detailed expatiation on the basic theory of village and township leaders electoral system reform, give an in-depth analysis on several major institutional difficulties and resolve ideas of the township electoral system reform in our country, summing up several typical patterns which emerged in the current practice of direct elections of township and village leaders of China, at the same time, carried out a preliminary study on the procedures of the directions of township and village leaders.
