On Chinese Traditional "He" Culture And The Construction Of Peaceful Diplomatic Policy Of China

"He" was a very important philosophy area in ancient China, and gradually turned into the spiritual core of Chinese traditional culture. It affected the way of Chinese people to deal with all kinds of relationships, especially the international relationships in different periods. It was under the influence and conduct of Chinese traditional "He" that ancient Chinese dynasties most benevolent liberal vision of "foreign one," pushed the policy of appeasement, inclusive, forming neighbors cautiously war avoiding war, and regarded peaceful coexistence between nations as the highest goal. So thinking of peaceful benevolent diplomacy, practice of peaceful and tolerant diplomacy and non-utilitarian limited war are the basic characteristics of Chinese diplomacy, which affects the future generations.This paper first elaborates on traditional"He"culture's influence on ancient China how to deal with foreign affairs, then influence on the way of thinking and values, most important, the far-reaching influence on the way of diplomacy after the founding of new China with Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao as the representative of the four generation central collective leadership. They have inherited and exceeded the previous thinking and paid much attention to peaceful coexistence, mutual benefit and friendly cooperation, which is regarded as foreign policy cornerstone. Their peaceful diplomatic thinking carrying on the Marxist concept of peace has deeply learned the essence of traditional Chinese culture and has been really put into foreign policy goals, objectives, principles, practice and so on.This paper offers an analysis of peaceful diplomacy policy in ancient and modern China which is deeply influenced by traditional"He"culture and regarded as a whole. History and reality of China clearly shows that ancient China in heyday did not bully people and will also maintain the tradition of peaceful diplomacy when it is strong . Chinese diplomatic thinking and practice is just the expression of Chinese traditional"He"culture, which not only embodies the requirements of the times, but also shows its profound historical origin.
