Since the reform and opening up of China, the gap between rich and poor of Chinese society is on a widening trend; especially the injustice polarization between rich and poor has become severe social problem day by day. In late 1990s,there was a famous debate between the"Liberals"and the"New-Leftists"in China's intellectual circles, one of whose main contents was social justice problems. Although the climax of the debate has passed,the social justice problems of Chinese society still emerge in an endless stream. Therefore, studying the profound ideological divergent of two schools on the issue will undoubtedly have great academic and actual meanings for the current construction of harmonious society.This thesis is composed of four parts:Chapter one: differences of the connotation of Justice. Firstly, the chapter tries to give uniform definition and division to these confusing conceptions such as Justice, Fairness and Equality for the next discussions; Secondly, it expounds the differences of the connotation of Justice that the"Liberals"and the"New-Leftists"have, and makes comments.Chapter two: the just distribution mode: market or state. Firstly, the chapter expounds the differences of just distribution mode that the"Liberals"and the"New-Leftists"have concretely, namely, market-oriented or state-oriented; secondly, it makes comments on unilateralism of both sides and puts forward the just distribution mode.Chapter three: right guarantee of formal justice: right and intensive democracy, which is more important. Firstly, the chapter expounds the diagnosis and solution approach of absence of formal justice that the"Liberals"and the"New-Leftists"claim concretely; Secondly, it analyzes and makes comments on unilateralism of both sides.Chapter four: Justice: unification of Freedom and Equality. Firstly, the chapter concludes the essence of the differences of Justice problems that the"Liberals"and the"New-Leftists"have, namely, which is the best value, Freedom or Equality; Secondly, it points out that Justice is the best value and Governs Freedom and Equality.
