There lie two kinds of safety mechanisms in the East Asia: the military alliances and the ASEAN Region Forum (ARF) which is taken as representative of cooperative security mechanism. Military alliances have had a certain effect on maintaining the stability and security after the cold war in the East Asian area, but it is easy to intensify "the security dilemma", while the mechanism of the ARF which is taken as representative of "the cooperative security" is to focus on establishing the confidence measure that can overcome the shortcomings in the very great degree. The safety mechanism is still in the developing process in the East Asian area. But in the long run, constructing a security community in the East Asia is the ideal pattern in the East Asia security cooperation. This article has a discussion on the possible ways in constructing East Asian Community(EASC): the first is to be constructed on the basis of the ARF; the second is to pay more attention on the tendency of the Six —Party Talk on North Korea Nuclear Issue mechanism in the Northeast Asia inferior area; the third is to give full play to " Track Two " diplomacy in the East Asia security cooperation as a function of a "bond".This article takes the regional security complex theory as the theoretic framework in the East Asia security cooperation and tries hard to make an initial exploration and attempt to the tendency of the East Asia security cooperation via the analysis of the latest situation in the East Asia security cooperation.
