Constructing The Harmonious World: The New Concept Of Chinese Diplomacy

Constructing the Harmonious World is the new concept and great proposal set forth by Chinese leaders to the whole world in the new century. This concept was proposed by Chairman Hu jintao in April, 2005. Although it is recently proposed, the influence of this concept is great in the whole world. Under the guidance of this concept, we have obtained fruitful and admiring achievements in diplomacy. This manifests the self-confidence of our Chinese on the one hand, on the other hand, it has proven the correctness of this concept.The harmonious world is the ideal society, which has been pursued by humanity for thousands of years. The most significant characteristic of the Harmonious World is harmony in difference. Various countries and nations could live together in peace and harmony, learn from each other, make progress together and at the same time carry forward their own national characteristics fully. The ultimate goal of the Harmonious World is the lasting peace and mutual propriety. The basic mean to realize the Harmonious World is to take the way of peaceful development.This article consists of four parts. The first part introduces the forming of the concept of the Harmonious World. At first,introducing briefly the forming process of the concept of the Harmonious World; Secondly,elaboratting the cultural origin of the proposition of the concept from the perspective of the historical culture and tradition both at home and abroad; Finally,elaboratting the inevitability of constructing the Harmonious World on the basis of the domestic and foreign realities.The second part analyzes the specific characteristics and the rich connotation of the Harmonious World. It includes the layers and characteristics of the Harmonious World.The third part elaboratting the concrete measures, which should be adopted to construct the Harmonious World. The last part mainly discusses the endeavor we have made to construct the Harmonious World, the achievements we have obtained as well as the influences upon the whole world.
