Status & Function Of Vietnam In ASEAN

Since 1986, Vietnam has been taking renovation policies and now it has received great successes in many respects such as economy, society, politics and foreign relationships. Since it joined the ASEAN in 1995, Vietnam has earned great benefits from the Association, also plays a more and more important and dominant role in it. This thesis mainly uses a constructivism theory to analyze the background of their relationship, including the affections of international political systems, globalization, southeast nationalism, and the shift of Vietnam's foreign post-cold war policies. As the key section, the thesis mainly analyzes their relationship between Vietnam and ASEAN respectively before and after acceding to ASEAN, and Vietnam's status & functions in ASEAN. In the last section , It further discuses its potential in ASEAN.
