An Analysis On The Influence Of Information Hegemmony On National Sovereignty

With the rapid development of telegraphy and internet technology, the global application of Internet leads the human society to a new network time. The Internet pervades so many fields such as politics, economy, culture and other fields of social lift, brings a profound influence on international society. At the same time, those global problems which are generated by development of Internet bring people unprecedented challenges. Traditional hegemony has new development and new form of representation driven by Internet.This dissertation starts with the DNS, and elicits the discussion about information hegemony. Hegemonic behavior exists at any ages. Information age produces information hegemony. Information hegemony can make damage to the sovereignty in politics, economy, military and culture. In politics, the information hegemony state controls the content of information as its wish to influence international public opinion. By doing this, the information hegemony state can affect other states'political system and ideology and demolish the basis of governance. In economy, the information hegemony state makes use of the imbalance in information technology to widen the gape between them and developing countries. In military, the information hegemony state takes advantage of dominance in technology to carry on internet war, intimidating other countries and acquiring intelligence. This behavior puts great threat to other countries and makes the relations among nations under the state of sub-war. In culture, the hegemony state starts the battle on idea an culture, penetrates the objective state by cultural means, changes people's way of thinking and behaving, erodes the traditional culture of this country, destroys the soft-foundation of the objective country by the way of gradually change. This dissertation emphasizes that the information hegemony cannot be ignored.This dissertation roundly analyzes the generation and influence of information hegemony. According to these detailed analyses, this dissertation can provide a new perception about hegemony in theory and also hopes to offer some reference in practice. This dissertation analyzes current situation of informationization in China, provides some advice about how to deal with information hegemony.
