An Analysis On "the Cultural Independence Of Taiwan" And Our Countermove

In the recent years, "the cultural independence of Taiwan", as a kind of separatist trend in culture, has been growing continuously and greatly jeopardized the cross-strait peaceful unification movement. Its purpose is to separate Taiwan from its motherland China and to establish an "independent Taiwan" in Taiwanese's ideology, attempting to build a new nation. In the face of this increasingly rampant "cultural independence of Taiwan" activity, this paper intends to analyze and dissect this ideological trend as well as its practice historically, both horizontally and vertically, reviewing its origin and course of development, revealing its displaying pattern, analyzing its causes and telling its essence, intention and harmfulness. And in the ending part the present achievement as well as the problems of our national countermove is discussed, and a strategy is put forward from the perspective of culture, in the hope of speeding up the development in both areas across the strait and having a earlier peaceful unification of our motherland.
