Study on the Mental Health and its Related Factors of Servicemen in Shenyang Military Area Command of Chinese PLAObjectiveTo investigate and analyze military personnel's mental health state and its related factors, so as to provide scientific basis and measures for troop's management and establishment of systematically mental protecting and intervention system and selecting of mental health scale suited to our Army.MethodTo find out the rate of different degrees of psychological problems, the psychological problems' symptom and the mental health's influencing factors, a series of questionnaires such as Self-compiled biographical variable, SCL-90, EPQ, PSSG, WSCS, GSES, SES, SSRS were examined in total servicemen.Results1. Psychological health(SCL-90):①Of all 994 subjects, 1.8% had serious mental problem, 12.7% had obvious mental problem. The mainly obvious psychological problem in order were obsession-compulsion, paranoid ideation, somatization, interpersonal sensitivity, etc.②The total score, the factorial scores and the number of positive items were all significantly higher than the national norm. The number of positive items and two factorial scores including somatization, obsession were obviously higher than the Chinese servicemen norm, but the scores of two factor including interpersonal sensitivity, depression was lower than the norm.③The mental health levels were markedly different in arms of services in the order: infantry<special servicemen<air force ground-service recruits of navy<armor men<submarine crew<submarine base staff. 2. The risk factors of mental health are native place, arms of the services, family atmosphere, educational degree, sleeping quality, personal expense, escape from school, negative emotion, negative copying, psychoticism, neuroticism, life events, et al. The protective factors of mental health were positive emotion, self-concept, positive copying, subjective social support.ConclusionMental selection and intervention should be attached importance to some special kinds of troop. The system of mental selection should be composed of personality, cognition, emotion, mental symptoms, copy style et al. Mental intervention should be emphasis on cultivating good personality, elevating individual cognition and behavioral manner, enlarging channels of emotional abreaction, improving adaptation.
