Research On Residence Registration System Of China

The residence registration system, acting as an important social system of management of population, plays a key role in either anciet china or modern china.With the transition of our economic mechanism and the rapid development of market economy, the weakness of the current residence registration system appears obviously.Its reform is demanded urgently. Looking back the evolution of the registration system and elaborating the lag of the reform of the registration system during the process of the transition from the planed economy to the market economy, this paper has sought out a set of reasonable pattern about household management on the base of china'reality.And this pattern can promote social harmony, stability and sustainability.This paper can be divided into three parts.The first part talks about the evolution of the ancient residence registration system, elaborates its emergence, development and improvement and stresses its function of consolidating the feudal authority.The second part, through elaborating the present condition and the main problems of our current residence registration system and looking back its characters in its three periods respectively,discusses the drawbacks and negative effects of the dual residence registration system produced in the planned economy in our country.The last part mainly stresses that the reform of residence registration system should be executed according to certain principles and on the basis of our national reality so that we can construct models of harmonious residence registration system through learning from overseas experience of residence registration system.
