The Research About Orientating Of Chinese Policeman's Image In The New Era

The image of police is decided by the overall appraisal and impressions which is reflected from the inherent characteristics of the externality under certain conditions. It is a basic objective and means to pursuit and shape the image of police which maintains public security organization and individual surviving and developing. The precondition and foundation of shaping the image of police is the orientation of image.The research about the image of Chinese police starts lately, there is no matural idea to use for reference. For a long time, the orientation of policeman's image is chaotic, and there is deviation on the understanding. This thesis tries to locate the image of policeman from the public (customers) angle and study the image of policeman from the perspective of public administration with the background of the transformation of government functions, which provide the guidance to construct the new era image of police.This thesis consists of six parts. The introduction is to expound the motivation to study the image of police, to reorganize the present situation and achievement of the current study on the image of Chinese police, and to define the importance and the urgency as well as the direction of the research about image of the police. The second part discusses the connotation of the orientation of policeman's image by means of the orientation theory, and lays a theoretical foundation for the orientation of policeman's image. The third part analyzes the social and organizational environment, and reveals many factors that affect the image, as well as provide a basis for the orientation of image. The fourth part digs out the glittery factors of the policeman's image through carefully examining the police. The fifth part dissertates the concept of the changes of the police organizations, functions, the action mode and pointed out the practical need of the orientation of policeman's image from the strategy of the development of the organization. The sixth part analyzes the shortage of the traditional orientation of the police image and points out that to orientate the image of the police should handle the relations between three parts, then points out the whole idea of orientating of the "pro-public, the offenders fear".
