Philosophical Perspective Of National Image Building Research

This dissertation's research goal is to explore the construction of national image from the angle of the philosophy view. The full text takes the philosophy concept of national image as the breakthrough point, and carries on profound reconsiderations to the contemporary Chinese national image status., then analyzes and refines the scientific orientation, remolding principle and path strategy of national image from a kind of overall thinking, in order to provide some scientific methodology guidance to the contemporary and future construction of Chinese national image.This dissertation includes seven parts besides the preface. The actual contents are as follows:The basis which the selected topic rests on and the significance of the research are introduced first, and the relevant research results are reorganized, summarized and rethought in the preface; In addition, the preface introduces the main research methods and the academic goals of this dissertation; finally, the dissertation's possible innovation and deficiency are summarized.The first chapter: the concept definition of national image. This chapter tries to surpass the concrete social science and examine the actual connotation of the concept of national image at the philosophical level. This chapter is divided into three sections. In the first section, by introducing the concepts of "image", "nation" and "national image", the text analyzes and combs the main definition about"national image"in the present related works and literature materials, then give the new definition of"national image"from the angle of epistemology. The second section uses systematical methods and the relevant theory of constructivism to analyze and summarize the composition, basic characteristics and the main types of national image's concept. The third quarter try to surpass the specific social science, and give a basic philosophical inspect into the essence of national image on the height of the unity of ontology, epistemology, practice theory and historical materialism.Chapter 2: The historical comb of the national image thought. This chapter takes Marxism as the guidance, on the basis of critically absorbing Chinese traditional and western academic resources, mainly combs the national image thoughts in the Chinese and western Marxism historically. This chapter is divided into three sections. The first section tries to comb national image thought resources in the history of Chinese philosophy through investigating every dynasty regime in the different historical periods. The second quarter tries to comb national image thought resources in the history of western philosophy of three stages which are ancient Greek times, western bourgeois revolution period and Germany classical philosophy period. The third quarter mainly sums up and analyzes the theory of the national image of Marx, Engels, Lenin and Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping and other Marxists. Through the above analysis, the aim of this chapter is to provide theoretical resources for analyzing the contemporary Chinese national image problems, and to broaden our theoretical horizons of solving the problem of contemporary Chinese national image construction, and to provide a helpful and useful thought claims which can be learnd.Chapter 3: The necessity national image construction. This chapter is along the three main lines of logic, history and reality, tries to comb time and space coordinates, thus to see the necessity of national image construction's development and evolution. This chapter is divided into three sections. The first quarter tries to highlight the logical inevitability of national image building through the reflection to power politics theory, the reflection to the theory of domestic social order and international contests of strength and the reflection to the differences between the national self-image and external image. The second section does a historical research into the inevitability of national image construction separately in three periods, which are the war and revolution period, peace and development period, great development, change and adjustment period. The third section tries to analyze the reality necessity of national image construction separately on the basis of three main reality elements of globalization, informationization and democratization.Chapter 4: The reality reflection of Chinese contemporary national image. This chapter basically transfers the reviews from the concepts, ideas, theoretical analysis to the contemporary situation of the Chinese national image's development. This chapter is divided into three sections. The first section tries to summarize the splendid achievements China has obtained in four historical periods of 60 years since the founding of the PRC according to the time sequence. The second section is to give a rational analysis and judgment to the new challenges and existing problems which China has to face in the areas of domestic and international situation, the domestic and international image differences and etc. The third section is to analyze the reasons which have caused the present problems in the national image construction from the three aspects of national image composition which are the image object, epistemic subject, and information media.Chapter 5: The developmental strategy of the Chinese national image. This chapter mainly tries to analyze and construct the developmental strategy of Chinese nation image from the three aspects which are the national image mold's principle, the national image mold's foundation and the national image mold's promotion. This chapter is divided into three sections. The first section extracts three basic national image principles of"the integration of authenticity, selectivity and artistry the integration of individuality and general character ", and " the integration of gradation and spanning " from the philosophical level. These three principles will provide constructive methodology guidance in the Chinese national image construction. The second section tries to expound and prove the basic role of the economic strength to the national image from the interdependence between the three aspects of economic strength and national image, economic strength and the molds of national image, economic strength and national image strategy. The third section tries to present that it's an important means of ascending the national image to implement the national cultural strategy from the close relationship between the three aspects which are the cultural and national image, the molds of national image, the national image strategy.Chapter 6: The path of Chinese contemporary national image construction. This chapter basically presents the path of Chinese contemporary national image construction in the three aspects of how to locate the national image's position, how to spread the national image, and how to restore the national image. This chapter is divided into three sections. The first section tries to locate a reasonable position of the domestic image and international image according to the two positioning principles of which whether the image is consistent with objective facts and the value standard of the times. The second section tries to analyze the spread of national image by means of updating dissemination ideas and integrating dissemination methods separately. The third quarter tries to present the restoration of national image in the aspects of enhancing the transparency of crisis information, promoting the country's emergency managed capacity and strengthening country's function of crisis public relations.The conclusion briefly sums up the thought of this article, reflects the insufficiency of the study and looks into the future of the research.In brief, from philosophy angle of view research country image construction, not can only increase the new research angle of view for the national image construction, also will provide the constructive for the present Chinese country image construction methodology instruction. As the initial attempts to research of country image construction, thearticle tries to expand in a number of ways in order to give useful lessons about the further exploration on this issue.
