Research On Russia-EU Relations In Putin Presidency

After the Cold War, Russia and the EU have experienced internal transition and diplomatic relations re-establishment. in the process, Russia and the EU, the two strategic forces, established what kind of relationship, and the quality of the relationship, have an extremely important influence not only to both the two sides' internal political and economic development, but to the post - Cold War region and world pattern as a whole. During Putin Presidency, the Russian-EU relations have obtained great development in the framework of the strategic partnership. This paper give a superficial analysis and research on the relationship between Russia and European Union in Putin Presidency. Based on the above considerations, this paper forms five chapters:Introduction concentrates on the importance of choosing such a topic, the current study situation both at home and abroad and the structure of this paper.The first part, mainly analyzes various factors that affect the Russia-EU relations and the development of bilateral relations. The factors influencing Russian-EU relations includes, the relations between Russia and EU that president Putin came into power; the international situations, Russia and the EU's internal situations and their foreign policies. Meanwhile, it describes the development of bilateral relations in three periods under the Putin administration.The second part is one of the most important chapter in this paper. On the basis of the above part, this part analyses the new characteristics of the Russia-EU relations of the Putin administration. They shows as the symmetrical trend of relation of the Russia-EU relations is strengthened, The development of bilateral relation becomes more and more practical, The multi-level connection takes shape tentatively, Head's diplomatic function is prominent and so on.This part attempts to use "quantitative analysis" and some very convincing data to support the author's point of view.The third part is anther important part of this paper, which further analyzes the development structure of relationship between Russia and the EU. The author analyzes the impetus and obstacle in the development of these two nations from the analysis of their common strategic interests and structural conflicts. Thus there is an essential assurance to the Russia-EU relations. In conclusion, On the basis of the above three parts, this part attempts to utilize the law of the relations between Russia and the EU and predicts the prospects of the Russia-EU relations after Putin era.
