By combing the historical facts of the relations, the main characteristics and key issues of Sino-Indonesian political relations can be found. In the period of Sukarno, the economic relations between China and Indonesia run fast by the promotion of the two countries'political relations, and they establish on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, unlike western countries have strong exploitative and predatory economic relations with Indonesia. At that time, the Chinese government on the condition of its own economy relatively difficult, still gives the Indonesian government substantial financial assistance to Indonesia. The economic relations consolidate the political relations developing of China and Indonesia. The cultural relations in Sukarno's era are more prosperity than any other periods of the relations history. The cultural relations not only enrich and develop cultural undertakings of the two countries, and also promote the development of the political relations. The Sino-Indonesian relations in Sukarno's reign have developed rapidly, but not stable. To comprehensively study and analyze the political, economic and cultural relations, the factors which affect Sino-Indonesian relations are quite complicated. The negative factors are great powers, Indonesian domestic political conflict, overseas Chinese issue and new Chinese government's radical foreign policy towards Indonesia. The positive factors are Sino-Indonesian traditional relations and the common strategic interests. Summing up the historical experiences and lessons of the relations, present and future Sino-Indonesian relations should avoid the negative factors, actively nurture common interests of the two countries, enhance comprehensive exchanges, increase mutual trust, and develop long-term bilateral friendly and cooperative relations.
