This thesis is the study of Hu Jintao's concept of the people. It is not Hu Jintao's personal view but a view of all the contemporary communists represented by Hu Jintao. It is the collective wisdom of the Chinese communists of the people. The study on Hu Jintao's concept of the people has great values. On the one hand, it has important theoretical and academic values on deepening the scientific concept of development, some other major strategic thoughts and even the theory of building socialism with Chinese characteristics. On the other hand, it has a further practical effect on grasping what the people want, strengthening the building of the party in power, implementing the basic requirements of the "people-oriented" society and building a harmonious socialist society. By now, researches from different academic angles on the conduct of Hu Jintao's concept of the people has been made and some notable results has been achieved. However, these researches still need some further improvement in the breadth, the depth and the systemism.Hu jintao's concept of the people is not a product of accidents but an inevitable results of the interaction of various backgrounds and conditions. From the international backgrounds, it has gradually come into being in the complex backgrounds. When the international community began to concern the people's own survival and development; when the modern concept of social development "people first" has gradually become a core theory; when the philosophy emphasizing secular concerns and originated in the West gradually rise in modern society and when the United States and some other Western countries with ulterior motives accuse against China's human rights conditions, Hu Jintao's concept of the people was born. From the domestic context, with the quiet rise of "people-oriented" social philosophy and attitude toward life, With the emergence of new problems in the course of China's economic development at this current stage, in order to prevent the phenomenon of "Latin American trap" and do well in face of the new environment and new challenges, the long-term government Chinese Communist Party put forward the concept of the people in time.With the lessons of the failure of socialism in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe and the successful experience of China's reform and opening up more than 20 years in practice, Hu jin tao's concept of the people is equipped with practical conditions. It is formed on the basis of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory and Jiang Zemin's "Three Represents" and at the same time it also learns from the useful elements of Chinese traditional culture.Hu Jintao's concept of the people is extremely rich in content. Third, it makes a new denotation of how to deal with the issues of themasses of the people. As for the ideas of development, it puts forward a concept of"people-oriented" and "development for the people, rely on the people, sharing withthe people". Regarding the people's interest, it develops the scientific concept of"the people's interest" and "there's no small matter for the the interests of themasses." About the governing philosophy, it adhere to "serving the public andgoverning for the people" and "improving people's living conditions". With regard tohandling the relationship between the party and the people, it advocates "Right forthe people, hearts with the people, benefits for the people" and reiterates toremember the "two musts".Hu Jintao's concept of the people is of great theoretical and practical significance. Theoretically, it upholds and develops the important thought about people's importance from Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory and Jiang Zemin's "Three Represents", improving the concept of the people to a new Level. Practically, its has a far-reaching significance on helping enhance the consciousness of the masse, make more clear of relying on whom and how to rely on them in the practice of continuing the causes of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Hu Jintao's concept of the people is developing and we should uphold and develop it in the new practice.
