On The Foreign Policy Of "Friendship And Partnership" With Neighbors

The foreign policy of "Friendship and Partnership with neighbors" is decided by the 16^th national congress of the Communist Party of China. This policy is warmly welcomed by the neighboring countries and promotes the partnership and friendship with them.Especialy in southeast countries, the good-neighborly diplomatic policy has got a great success. The relationship between China and ASEAN has gone through several stages from solving territory and boundary disputes to establishing strategic partnership relationship and strengthening regional economic cooperation, which makes the relationship between China and ASEAN to the new stages continously, thus China and ASEAN has became "good neighbors, good friends and good partners."The foreign policy of " friendship and partnership with neighbors" has a long lasting history and rich connotation, and it is not only the inheritance and development of China's fine traditions - Peace is to be valued most and Loving people and treating neighbors kindly are most valuable to a country , it is also the summary and conclusion of China's foreign practical experiences since the founding of P.R.C. for 50 years. In the new time, this policy closely connected with the main themes of the present era-peace and development, and gets along with the present tides of the time-regional economic integration and economic globalization, and reflects the desirable demands of neighboring countries to develop their economy. So it is a good policy that is satisfied with time demand. Its implementation is good for coping with the neighborly complicated geopolitical environment and appropriately handling the diplomatic relationships with neighbors, along with safeguarding the national security and providing external environment for domestic economic development and building the peripheral diplomacy and realizing the global diplomatic strategy.This peaceful policy is charcterized with good-neighbourliness, and its implementation needs the support of comprehensive national power. Since the Implementation of the policy, the neighboring situation of China has been improving much better, which brings broader international space to domestic reform and opening, promotes the regional cooperation, as the same time, it also makes the neighboring nations share the benefits, enhance the understanding and trust about China.The implementation of the policy brings the harmony to us and consolidates the stratigic basis functions of neighboring nations.
