On The County-level Assessment Of Government Performance

The development of social political,economy,culture,health and so on are directly affected by the work of government departments.China's government at the county level is a grass-roots level of government,and the county economy is also an important component in national economic system.China's government at the county level plays an important part in all aspects of social development.With the development of socio-economic and political reform,working concept and functions of government department have been a greater change.The concept of service-oriented government and scientific development makes more and more government departments pay great attention to their performance. The assessment of government departments on how to improve the level of performance to serve the people better becomes an important part of the study of public administration.This article summarizes theories about performance of domestic and foreign government departments,comparative analysis the assessment systems of government performance of developed countries to find assessment index systems that suit our government at the county level.Take Wuhe County in Anhui Province for example,the article carries on the comparison by using the method of TOPSIS to its recent years' achievements level, analysises the current situation and existing problems of the assessment systems of government performance,which put forward suggestions to improve our performance assessment systems of government departments at the county level.
