The Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of CPC has made the significant choice of the reform and open-up policy.The working class of the state-owned enterprises as the nucleus,have made great contribution for the national construction positively in the reform tide.However,with the deepening of the reform of the state-owned enterprises and the establishment of the modern enterprise system,the workers who lost the unit system asylum received the impact of very rough waves of the market economy.Their comprehensive social status has changed a lot since the reform.The workers became the aggrieved community.So there is a sharp contrast between the traditional role and the realistic one,and which has an important effect on their social psychology and their values.This paper firstly discussed the background of the state-owned enterprise workers as well as the details of the research about them.Then illustrated the condition changes of the workers by comparing the status,psychology and characteristics of them,before and after China's reform and opening-up,which is based on the foundation of the predecessors.Expounded the role which the workers of the state-owned enterprises are playing in the political stability and,participation,the Party's ruling foundation as well as the political culture.Finally,the author put forward some suggestions on enhancing the work to the workers by way of the political,economical and cultural propaganda.Suggests that the enterprise must promote the democracy construction at the grassroot level,then it will promote our country's political development and the social progress.
