On The "Peaceful Reunification" And "Peaceful Development"

To resolve the Taiwan question and to achieve national unity is a solemn and sacred mission for all the Chinese people. The Communist Party of China had a long-term and unremitting efforts for this. On the end of the 70s 20 century, in accordance with major international and domestic changes in the situation, the Chinese Communist Party clearly put forward major theory and principle of "peaceful reunification and one country, two systems". The major theory and principle continue to be enriched and perfected in practice, two propositions of the objectives of "development of cross-strait relations" at this stage and achieve the ultimate goal of reunification of the motherland in "Eight-point" put forward are the performance which the Communist Party of China resolved the Taiwan issue from national interests,from the entire country starting with the future,respecting history and reality and seeking truth from facts,takeing care of the embodiment of the interests of all parties and the performance of thinking in which the Communist Party of China resolveing the Taiwan question becomes more and more clear,more and more and sophisticated.Enter 21 century, the Communist Party of China have great innovation and development in the theory and ideas of resolving the Taiwan question. In October 2007 the Communist Party of China convened its 17th National People's Congress, "firmly grasp the theme of peaceful development in cross-strait relations," was written to programmatic document of our party. Cross-strait "peaceful development" shows that at Taiwan strategy, the thought of understanding becomes more deepened, the targets becomes more clear, besides, the Communist Party of China pay more attention to the Taiwan compatriots for the peaceful development of the vision of hope. The face of "Taiwan independence" forcing to the threat of peaceful reunification of the motherland, the cross-strait "peaceful development" has become the new era of our party's policy toward the inevitable choice. Facts have proved that under the guidance of "set up mutual trust, shelve disputes, seek common ground and create win-win" of thought "peaceful development", cross-strait relations start into the track of peaceful development, the exchanges of cross-strait economy and trade,culture,education in various fields and so on have made significant breakthrough."peaceful reunification" and "peaceful development" are complementary and inseparable. "Peaceful reunification" is the ultimate goal, and "peaceful development" is the goal at this stage; "peaceful development" is means,base and requirement to achieve "peaceful reunification" eventually, with the basic conditions, but also is the most realistic option before the eventual reunification of the two sides. "Peaceful reunification" is the prospect the Chinese Communist Party to do its utmost to strive for, and only achieve "peaceful reunification" ,can lay a solid foundation for cross-strait common prosperity and development, that is "peaceful development" in the former, "peaceful reunification" in the post, and "peace unification "is bound to bring greater peace and development.To achieve "peaceful reunification", to adhere to "peaceful development", we need to re-seize the opportunity of the KMT coming to power, seize the best phase of this historic opportunity of the cross-strait relations, in the subject of cross-strait peace and development, continues to accelerate the development,builds cross-strait peace framework,signs a peace agreement,strongly opposes and contains "Taiwan independence" and strives to carry out the hope that the principles and policies of the Taiwan compatriots, and effectively safeguard our national interest on the basis of adhering to the one-China principle.
