Under the background of Construction of New Countryside, as there are immense coal resources under the original village site, village X is moved and new village is constructed according to standard of being " advanced within 20 years ". The appearance of this village is thoroughly transformed. This transformation belongs to the pattern of changing from top to bottom caused by external forces. The crucial problem village X is confronted now is how to sustain the development of the village after the progress as a result of external forces and to cultivate the everlasting impetus of development. Taking the whole process of the move into consideration, we can find what concerns people most in this process is the problem of economic compensation, which is also the most important one. During the process of the radical transformation of the village's appearance, grass roots government and farmers go through very complex states of mind, at the root of which lies the problem of the delay of economic compensation. However, they still move before the deadline nevertheless. What sociological implications lie here? From the interviews, we can realize that grass roots government and villagers take quite a lot of attitudes towards the problem of economic compensation. As they belong to different fields, their states of mind and methods are correspondingly different. So to which kind of field does each of them belong? What is everyone's paradoxical state of mind and behavioral method? Both problems will be solved in this paper. This thesis can be roughly divided into three parts. Firstly, the paradoxical states of mind are educed. We can conclude from the interviews that grass roots government and villagers have paradoxical attitudes. Secondly, what are they? From both the points of view of government and villagers, the paradoxical states of mind will be portrayed as much as possible. Lastly, the reasons for their paradoxical states of mind will be revealed. In order to deepen the understanding of them, three theories will be applied to this research, including the social structure of a triangular prism, Giddens' Structuration Theory and Bourdieu's Theory of Field and Habitus.Based on the above descriptions, it can be discovered that not only grass roots government and villagers but also our country and the owner of coal mine are involved. Therefore, both the analyses of grass roots government and villagers are subject to the influence of their own fields. Grass roots government is under the control of country-owner of coal mine-farmers while villagers under the control of grass roots government-owner of coal mine-country. This thesis tries to put government and villagers separately in the social structure of triangular prism in order to deepen the understanding of their behavioral methods. Moreover, Giddens' Structuration Theory and Bourdieu's Theory of Field and Habitus will be employed to the interpretations of them.
